There is nothing like sending a subtle strong message out into the world and lately, I have been doing just that.
In the past few years, female empowerment has been re-jumpstarted on social media and which brought the education of feminism to a vast amount of people. Not that it wasn’t there already but I don’t think it was discussed or advertised as much as it is today. I have always been a feminist for as long as I can remember, it is how my mother raised me and I am proud to use that term to help describe myself. I don’t like to stir the pot too much with people but will always stand up for my views and try my best to respect others, but that is why I have been obsessed with feminist graphic tee shirts lately. This is the perfect way to basically tell everyone where I stand without saying a word. This sometimes triggers a conversation and I welcome that – I mean I have to, I am basically saying “ask me about my feminist agenda” to the world.
The last graphic tee I picked up was from Abercrombie & Fitch. I have been recently rediscovering this brand since being an Assistant Manager there a long time ago and I am so happy to go in there and see them stepping up their game. The message is simple, WOMEN WOMEN WOMEN – it’s all about us at the moment, it’s our time to start something and to break the shell that was molded for us a long time ago. Feminism is not about being superior to others it’s about being equal and fighting for that equality. So let’s show everyone where we stand, by putting our views right out in front, on our chest.
